The Happenings of the Bernards

Well, it's hard to believe but here we are at the end of the April and spring has sprung! Abby only has a few more weeks of Kindergarten and then she is off to 1st grade....hard to believe huh! Not only that, but Meghan is now registered to begin her adventure in Kindergarten when the fall rolls around. Both the girls are doing really well in school. Abby has a field trip to the Children's Museum in a couple of weeks, in which she is very excited about that. She will also have her first sleepover when school is over with her Daisy Scout friends. Other than that, as you will see by the pictures we have been pretty busy little girls! Summer is almost here, which holds a lot of adventures. Little Meghan will be turning 5 on June 3rd, the party plans are yet to be determined. She wants to take swim lessons so we will start that in late May, as Abby will also be taking swim lessons. Also, Abby will start gymnastics in late May, something she has wanted to do for some time. We shall see how it goes! Hope all is well and enjoy the pictures.

It's Easter!!!

Coloring eggs is one of our favorite things....the girls worked very hard at this task.

Coloring eggs bring out Abby's talents.

One of Meghan's completed eggs...

The girls wanted to leave the Easter Bunny a treat when he stopped by to drop off their Easter baskets, so only carrots and cheese crackers will do:)

One of the big hits in each of their baskets were their new Twinkle Toes...shoes that light up with each step. The girls walk "big" when they have them on to make sure they light up!

Painting suncatchers is another of Abby's favorite things to do - she still has a few left she hasn't painted.

And the aftermath of the baskets being torn thru, which only took a max of 10 minutes.

Meghan got a new ice cream game, which is so fitting for her and she loves it. Daddy got to play the first round with the girls....

How nice of the Easter bunny to leave the girls a note - by the looks of the mess he really enjoyed his snacks!!!!

All pretty in her new dress for Easter Sunday.

And so is Meghan!

Beautiful little girls...

The family is all here!

Now let's go hunt some eggs!

Those eggs could be hiding anywhere...

On a mission...really its a competition to get more eggs than her sister!

Now Easter is coming to an end and we have lots of eggs to show for it!

Let's get Fit!

This past weekend, Mommy ran the Panerathon 5K, which benefitted the Children's Alliance to help feed hungry kids in the area. Before her race, they had a kids race just for the girls!

Meghan's blisters the 100 yard dash!

Abby did very well herself.

And they even got medals and a water bottle for their accomplishment!

She doesn't even look winded....just a little wet from the rain.

Made to run!

They even had a hula hoop contest! The girls blew this one out of the water.

And now we are all finished....Mommy ran her personal best 5K (3.1 miles) at 29:01!

And now the Donut Dash....a 5K with 5 Krispy Kreme donut stops along the way. Not only that, but it was Daddy's first 5K! Very impressive.

And here is the Donut Dash crew, Mommy's co-worker Amy and her husband Andy. What a team! Between the 4 of us, we ate a total of 12 donuts.

And Aunt Andrea and Mommy run in Orlando in the ESPN the Weekend 5K...guess Aunt Andrea won't be running any races in the next...oh.....7 months or so!

Minus Shad, who played photographer...here we all are.

Goofy had nothing on this guy...too bad we didn't get there early enough to enter Uncle Shon is the "biggest fan" competition!

Our afternoon at the sledding hill.

No school for either Mommy or the girls, as well as Daddy's work closing early led us on an adventure to the sledding hill for a fun afternoon!

After a wipe-out on her first solo run....

Facial expressions say it all.....

Two little girls growing up way too fast....

For some reason we went really fast down the hill this time!

Why does it seem take longer to get back up the hill then it did to go down????

Abby enjoying her afternoon.

And Meghan definitely has a good time!

We finally got tired, which led us to Tim Horton's for some hot chocolate...

Bundled up for the ride home...

It's a good thing Daddy was around to help the mailman, who got stuck in the neighbor's driveway....

Snow Days ROCK!!!

Getting Ready for Valentines Day!

On one of our snow days, we got to hang out at home - which was a good thing because Abby had to decorate her own box for her Valentine party.

As Abby worked on decorating her box, Meghan filled out invitations for her classmates at Pre-K.

Abby even cut out the letters for her name....

Meghan had to throw in some of her own decor as well.

Proudly displaying her work.

And the finished product! Great job!

Then, we got to make cookies and Jello jigglers for Meghan's party!

Putting sprinkles on the cookies is always fun. The girls also made treats for their teachers - chocolate dipped strawberries rolled in rice krispies. Pretty yummy, we might add!

Working together in the cookie decorating (and destroyng the kitchen;)

Two happy little girls, knowing that they get to eat some of their hard work.

It's party time ~ bring on the sweets!

This is Meghan's bag she decorated at school for her Valentines.

The heart-shaped Jello jigglers were a hit!

I love parties!!!!!

Enjoying the day with classmates.
