It's time for the outside pool!

Never in a million years would Meghan have done this last year, but here she is going down the slide at the pool.
Abby makes some big splashes!

Hanging with Daddy on this beautiful day. Thank goodness summer has arrived!

Abby is even jumping off the diving board....

Meghan just enjoying herself. We were at the pool for 4 hours and she loved every minute of it. We coaxed her into the car by promising her strawberry pie when we got home....that is her favorite!!!!

Abby ended her day at the pool soaking up the sunshine. Here's to many more hot, summer days in 2010!

Meghan's Pre-K Picnic

Meghan wanted to bring cookies in her last week of Pre-K to celebrate her birthday. Her class made her stand up in a chair as they sang "Happy Birthday".

Cookies and Capri Sun....a great birthday combo!

Then we had an end of the year picnic on the new playground equipment at the YMCA. Fun times! Next year is Kindergarten!!!

Abby cashed in on some hot dogs and Hi-C.

Face painting rocks!

Let's Pick Some STRAWBERRIES!!!

Here we are at 8 AM, ready to pick some delicious strawberries!

Meghan loves straweberries, no matter how they come...in a pie, shortcake, on ice cream, or right off the vine, she'll take it!

Abby did a great job finding the biggest, ripest berries.

Eventually Meghan sat down to rest and sing to herself in the strawberry field...

Both the girls had their share of fresh strawberries...it doesn't get much better than that!

And here we are....2 gallons of the good stuff. And, it only took us about 20 minutes to pick this many!

Well worth the early Sat. morning wake-up call....you can't buy these at Kroger's!

Our Day at Columbus Zoo

Summer has arrived and we were off to the zoo! We are lucky enough to live within an hour of one of the top zoo's in the country.

We started our day at the polar bear exhibit, where we got to watch them eat. They also swam in the water above us, which was pretty cool!

You can't make a trip to the zoo without brushing the goats...

At the aquarium, we got to touch a chocolate chip starfish and a lobster without pincher's.

The girls have been wanting to go on a picnic, so we tied that into our day as well. We had some visitors, and a goose, Mama duck and her ducklings came by to see of we were offering some food.

This was Meghan's favorite stop...a baby gorilla, Misha, was caught in between a family fight at the Louisville Zoo and lost her left leg when she was only 2 months old. She was transferred her to Columbus after she recovered to become part of the gorilla surrogate mother program. Misha required 24 hour care from human surrogates until they can integrate her with a gorilla mother. So they feed her by bottle, play with her, and Misha sleeps on their chest. Cute, cute CUTE! Now Meghan wants to take care of baby gorillas when she grows up.

Pony rides!!

When we started the day, the train was out of order. Thankfully it was put back on track!

That aquarium thing is pretty awesome...

It's a showdown....man vs. wild. It's a good thing there is some thick glass in between....

A run thru the rain forest.

We ended our day with some Dippin' Dots. Overall we had a great day at the zoo...maybe we will go back soon to check on Misha's progress.

Our New Ride

Abby and Meghan approve of the new ride, they prefer to be clear in the back far away from Mommy and Daddy. This should make the trip to Florida a little easier as it is pretty sweet ride. Abby is already asking if this can be her car when she gets older.

Abbys rendering of a wedding girl... if you can't read the bottom is says "I the Wed". The white dress is adorned with roses as well. We think Abby will be an amazing artist or designer some day. Good thing she got her G-Pa's artistic ability.

Meghan practicing for her future job as a police sketch artist

The stylish artist, she loves to be cool

Abby was so excited for her first real field trip. Her kindergarten class went to the Boonshoft Science Mueseum here in Dayton. The highlight of the trip was getting to pack her lunch. She was so excited all week and thouroughly enjoyed the experience.

Happy Mother's Day to the Best Mom in the World. Doesn't she look relaxed after her day at the Spa.
